Hair & Scalp Treatments in Plano, TX

4.9 stars · 336 reviews

Dry ends, dull color, a flaky scalp, hair that snaps when you brush it — these are the problems a good treatment solves. Our stylists diagnose what your hair actually needs before they reach for a bottle, then build the right treatment into your appointment.

What a Salon Hair Treatment Actually Does

Hair is protein. Every time you lighten it, heat-style it, or pull a brush through it wet, you take a little structure out of the strand and rough up the cuticle — the shingled outer layer that keeps moisture in and light reflecting off. Damage isn't one condition, it's several, and they need different answers.

That's the part most at-home products get wrong. A jar of mask does one thing to every head of hair it touches. A stylist looks at yours, feels it wet, and decides whether you need protein, moisture, bond support, a scalp reset, or some combination — then chooses the formula and the processing time to match.

At Lee Graves Salon, treatments aren't an upsell we tack onto the ticket. They're a diagnosis. If your hair doesn't need one, your stylist will tell you so.

Our Treatment Menu

Every treatment below is priced the same regardless of your stylist's level, and most take a few extra minutes inside an appointment you're already booking.

Luxury Conditioning Treatment — $50

Our most complete in-salon treatment. This is the one to book when your hair feels rough end-to-end, when color isn't holding shine, or when you're heading into a big event and want your hair at its absolute best. It processes longer than a standard mask and is worked through in sections so the ends — always the oldest, most porous part of your hair — get the most product.

This is also our standard recommendation before a bridal trial or a special occasion, since conditioned hair holds a curl set better and photographs with far more shine.

Chroma ID Bonding with Tone — $40

A Schwarzkopf Chroma ID bonding color mask, mixed with a touch of tone. It conditions and refreshes color at the same time — think of it as a mask that also nudges brassiness back toward the tone you left the salon with. Popular with blondes between highlight appointments and with anyone whose color has started to fade warm.

If tone is your main concern rather than condition, a standalone gloss or toner may be the better service — our root melt, shadow root, and toning page explains the difference.

Salon Mask — $25

A 5-10 minute mask worked through the mid-lengths and ends. This is the everyday option: enough slip and softness to change how your hair feels and combs out, without adding time to a tight appointment.

30-Second Bonding Treatment — $15

A fast bond-support treatment applied at the bowl. Lightener and permanent color work by breaking bonds inside the hair; bonding products help protect and re-support that internal structure. At $15, it's the least expensive insurance you can buy on a lightening service, and we recommend it for anyone going blonde or maintaining blonde.

Scalp Renew Add-On — $15

A treatment for the scalp rather than the hair. Product residue, dry shampoo, hard-water minerals, and natural oil all build up at the root over time — and that buildup is often the real cause of itching, flaking, and hair that goes limp within a day of washing. Scalp Renew clears that buildup and soothes dryness before the rest of your service.

If you've been fighting a dry, tight, or flaking scalp, mention it when you book so your stylist can plan the time. Persistent scalp conditions are a dermatologist's territory, not a salon's, and we'll say so if that's what we're seeing.

Deep Conditioning Blowout Add-On — from $15

Adding deep conditioning to a blowout or styling appointment is the easiest way to work a treatment into a routine you already keep. Hair that's been conditioned at the bowl dries smoother, takes less heat to style, and holds the finish longer.

Our Signature Haircut & Style already includes conditioning and a gloss, so there's no need to add a treatment to that service.

Moisture or Protein? Which One Your Hair Needs

Getting this backwards is the single most common at-home mistake we see, and it's why two people can use the same well-reviewed mask and get opposite results.

Your hair likely needs protein if it stretches like elastic when wet and doesn't spring back, feels mushy or gummy after washing, snaps mid-strand rather than at the ends, or has recently been lightened, permed, or color-corrected. Over-processed hair has lost internal structure, and moisture alone will just make it softer and weaker.

Your hair likely needs moisture if it feels rough, straw-like, or brittle, tangles badly, looks dull no matter how you style it, or has been sitting under Texas summer sun and pool chlorine. Hair like this is structurally fine — it's thirsty.

Protein overload is real. Hair that gets protein it doesn't need turns stiff, straw-like, and brittle, and it breaks. If you've been reaching for the same "repair" mask for months and your hair keeps getting worse, that's very often what's happening.

Your stylist can tell the difference in about ten seconds with a wet strand in their fingers. That's a good reason to ask at your next appointment rather than guessing in a store aisle.

Treating Damaged and Over-Processed Hair

Serious damage — the kind that follows a box-dye correction, an at-home bleach attempt, or years of daily flat-ironing — isn't fixed in one visit. What actually works is a plan:

  1. Stop the damage first. That may mean pausing lightening for a cycle, dropping your flat iron temperature, or changing how you're drying your hair. Nothing we do in the chair outruns damage that's still happening at home.
  2. Rebuild in stages. A series of treatments spaced across appointments does far more than one heroic session. Protein and moisture get alternated based on how your hair responds.
  3. Cut what can't be saved. A small amount off the ends at each visit removes the most compromised hair and stops splits from traveling up the shaft.
  4. Support it at home. The best in-salon treatment in the world can't survive a harsh shampoo and 450-degree heat every morning.

If you're mid-recovery from a color that went wrong, read our guide on the signs you need a color correction — and our post on repairing damaged hair covers the at-home half of the plan in more detail.

What Treatments Can't Do

We'd rather be honest about the limits than sell you something that won't work.

  • Split ends can't be repaired. Once the shaft splits, the only permanent fix is scissors. Treatments make split-prone ends look and behave better and slow down new splitting — but they don't fuse a split back together. Our post on preventing split ends covers what actually keeps them from forming.
  • Frizz has two causes. Some frizz is damage, which treatments genuinely help. Some is simply texture meeting humidity, which is a smoothing problem — that's what our keratin and Brazilian blowout services are for.
  • Treatments aren't a growth product. They reduce breakage, which means length stays on your head instead of ending up in the sink. That looks like growth, but it isn't the same thing.
  • Medical scalp conditions need a doctor. Psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, and hair loss with a medical cause are outside what a salon service treats. We'll do what we can for comfort and refer you on.

North Texas Weather, Water, and Your Hair

Plano clients deal with a specific set of problems, and they're seasonal.

Summer here is long, hot, and hard on hair — UV exposure oxidizes color and dries the cuticle, pool chlorine strips it further, and blondes in particular come in green-tinged or straw-textured by August. Our summer hair care guide for Texas goes deeper on prevention, but a moisture treatment at every appointment from June through September is the simplest fix.

Winter is the opposite problem: dry indoor heat pulls moisture out of both hair and scalp, which is when we see the most complaints about flaking and static.

Year-round, North Texas tap water is hard. Minerals deposit on the hair over months, dulling color and leaving a film that makes conditioner feel like it's doing nothing. If your color looks flat within a few weeks of leaving the salon and you've ruled out sun and shampoo, mineral buildup is a likely suspect — and a clarifying or scalp treatment is where we'd start.

Taking It Home

In-salon treatments set the baseline; what you use for the next six weeks decides how much of it survives. We carry three professional lines and match them to the problem rather than the price tag — Schwarzkopf BC Bonacure for bond repair on color-treated hair, Iles Formula for damaged hair that needs immediate softness and shine, and Aveda for clients who want plant-derived formulas. You can see all three on our professional products page, and your stylist will tell you exactly which two or three items are worth buying and which you can skip.

One more thing worth knowing: color-safe, sulfate-free shampoo protects your treatment as much as it protects your color. Our guide to caring for color-treated hair covers the washing routine that keeps both intact.
