Winterizing Your Hair

The winter always leaves our hair and skin so dry and begging for moisture and repair. These are a few tricks to keep your hair looking great during these dry winter months.
Use a Waxy Pomade for Static
Try to keep a waxy pomade on hand for days that your hair is so staticky that it's just flying away. When you use this for flyaways, put a small amount in your hand and rub your hands together like you are rubbing in a lotion. Then apply it to the top of your hair like you are flattening out your hair. You can also pull through the pieces that are really dry.
Quick Moisture Fix with Conditioner
If your hair is extra dry and it's looking brittle, you can grab a little conditioner and get your hands a little wet, rub in your hand like a lotion, then just run through your hair all over. Your hair is like a sponge at this point and it will soak up that moisture right away.
Keep Serum on Hand
Try to keep serum on hand. A good beautifying serum has many great oils in it to keep your hair protected and moisturized. You can apply this wet or dry or both. You can use this on your cuticles, your feet, add it to your lotion, and use it to moisturize around your eyes. Also use this on your dry lips --- it's amazing!
Moisturize Your Skin Too
Keep a small lotion in your bag or pocket at all times this winter. Dry skin is too easy to get if you are not moisturized. A nourishing lotion adds 90% moisture immediately to your skin.
Weekly Hair Masks
Go ahead and get your at-home hair mask at the salon and do this at least once a week during the winter months. You can even sleep in it overnight for extra moisture.
